Received a Join Code from Your Child’s Teacher? Here’s How to Use It
Welcome to Reading.com! Your child’s teacher has invited you to support your child’s reading journey at home—and we’re excited to have you onboard.
Depending on what your teacher shared with you, follow the steps below to get started.
Option 1: You Received a Class Join Link
This is a URL that connects you to your child’s classroom. It may be shared by your child’s teacher via email, class app, or handout.
What to do:
- Click the link or scan the QR code your teacher provided.
- Log in or create your Reading.com account using your own email address.
- When prompted, select your child’s name from the dropdown list.
- Your child will automatically be connected to their classroom.
- Download the Reading.com app, log in, and start exploring lessons with your child!
Tip: No need to enter a join code with this option—just select your child’s name and go!
Option 2: You Received a Unique Join Code
(This may come as a printed letter or a unique link—both work the same way.)
Your child’s teacher may have sent you:
- A printed take-home letter, OR
- A personalized URL link that includes your child’s unique join code
What to do:
- Download the Reading.com app from the Apple App Store, Google Play Store, or Amazon App Store.
- Open the app and create your parent account using your email address, or log in if you already have an account.
- Set up your child’s profile in the app.
- Tap on your child’s profile, then select “Enter Join Code.”
- Enter the code from your letter or follow the link to complete setup.
Note: The join code only works after your child’s profile has been created in the app.
A Quick Note About Your Account
- This subscription was provided by your child's teacher and is only for the student connected through the classroom.
- If you would like to add additional children to your Reading.com account, you’ll need to purchase a separate subscription, which can be done within your account.
That’s It!
Once you're connected, your child will have access to their classroom lessons from home—and you’ll be part of their reading success story.
Just 15 minutes a day can help your child build confidence and essential reading skills while staying in sync with their teacher.
