How to Purchase Reading.com for Homeschool Use

Welcome, homeschool families and homeschool organizations! Whether you’re purchasing our program directly or through a homeschool charter, we have two account options to fit your needs: a Parent Subscription (Personal Account) or a Teacher Account. Here’s how each one works and what to consider when choosing.

Account Options:

  1. Parent Subscription (Personal Account):
    • Best for: Individual homeschool families who prefer a simple setup.
    • Subscription Options: Choose between monthly or yearly payments, with the option to cancel anytime. Subscriptions can be made in the app through the Apple App Store, Google Play Store, or Amazon App Store, or directly on our website HERE.
    • Receipt Access: Your purchase will generate a receipt and will be emailed to you, great if you’re requesting reimbursement.
    • Free Trial: Enjoy a 7-day free trial before your subscription converts to an auto-renewing plan.
    • Auto-Renewal: Parent subscriptions are subscription-based and will automatically renew. Be sure to manage your subscription if you want to avoid renewals.
    • Student Capacity: A Parent Subscription can support up to 3 children.
    • Placement Assessment: Includes an optional placement assessment to find the best starting point for your child. Learn more about the placement assessment HERE. 

2. Teacher Account:

    • Best for: Homeschool families paying through their homeschool charter, co-ops, large families, or homeschoolers who need more flexibility with what lessons to do with their children. 
    • Purchase Options: Teacher accounts can only purchase annual licenses, ideal for one-time payment methods like purchase orders (POs). You can also purchase with a credit card. Note: Teacher accounts can NOT purchase licenses through the app stores.
    • Access to Teacher Portal: Teacher accounts include a Teacher Portal, where you’ll find easy access to quotes, receipts, and invoices—perfect for record-keeping and submitting for charter reimbursement. 
    • Free Trial: Teacher accounts come with a 30-day free trial, with no automatic renewal.
    • Student Capacity: Teacher accounts can accommodate more than 3 children, making them ideal for larger families or groups.
    • Placement Assessment: Teacher accounts don’t include a placement assessment, but they give you access to all lessons so you can start your child at the best level you deem appropriate. Learn more about setting lesson progress in the Teacher Portal HERE. 
    • Note: Promotional discounts or coupons cannot be applied to Teacher Accounts.

  • Device Requirements: Our program is available on mobile or tablet devices through the Reading.com app, downloadable from the Apple App Store, Google Play Store, or Amazon App Store. Please note that the program is not yet available on desktops, Chromebooks, or web browsers.
